PRIMARY JOB FUNCTION
The Planner Global Supply Chain will be responsible for the creation and maintenance of valid replenishment plan for the assigned Third Party or Internal manufacturing sites and second tier suppliers, all in line with business strategies, financial plans, capacity constraints and the target inventory profile.
The Planner Global Supply Chain builds and manages a supply chain network that is resilient and act as shock-absorber for fluctuations coming from both demand & supply on mid-term and long-term horizons1 . Focus within the replenishment plan is to optimize inventory levels and identification, assessment and mitigation of supply risks is key priority in the daily activities.
CORE JOB RESPONSIBILITIES: What You’ll Do ?
Demand Management
- Responsible to understand and appropriately support demand changes from monthly published commercial forecast
- Responsible for coordination of planning activities on New Product Introductions and Label changes for assigned suppliers in mid and long term.
- Cross functional communication with different departments to ensure fulfillment of customer requests mid to long term demand.
- Proactively avoid product potential backorders and develop action plans upon their occurrence.
- Review demand Risks and Opportunities and pro-actively develop scenarios, to enable agility and speed in decision making processes
Supply Management
- Manage shortage of supplies impacting mid and long term and provide business impact and mitigation scenarios.
- Ensure close collaboration & communication with TPM’s or manufacturing sites, on topics impacting mid and long term, to achieve alignment on supply chain topics such as inventory, capacity, constraints and NPI’s
- Accountable for providing monthly Replenishment forecast to assigned suppliers and in line with contracts and MSA’s
- Provides Volume projections/Last Best Estimates for assigned product portfolio
Inventory management
- Provides Inventory projections/Last Best Estimates for assigned product portfolio
- Responsible for maintaining appropriate inventory levels within the nodes of Supply Chain in scope. Including setting of MOQ’s and Safety stock in APO controlled plants
Other
- Assure compliance with local and Abbott quality, financial, and regulatory rules, policies and procedures
- Responsible for providing (Master Data) for New material creation in SAP
- Projects: Manage/Lead projects as assigned
- Run the Weekly Check File and act on all Inventory, Demand or Miscellaneous reported events impacting mid and long term
- Create/Maintain critical Product or Supplier Information as per agreed templates/tools
- Maintain effective relationships with internal EPD stakeholders, (third party) manufacturing sites, and regional counterparts
- Drive continues improvement
- Optimize Supply chain Planning parameters (i.e. SS, MOQ's) across the different nodes of the supply chain
- Represent Supply Chain in Business Review Meetings, Demand & Operations Planning, Workstream and other cross-functional meetings
Qualifications & Skills:
- Minimum of 3 years’ experience in Supply chain environment (demand/supply/production planning), preferably in Pharma business.
- Good communication skills (English written and oral, another language is an advantage) and an ability to work cross-functionally in an international environment
- Strong analytical skills are a necessity for capacity planning, inventory management and KPI analysis. Allow making sound decisions based on good judgment to.
- Good foundation in Basics of Supply Chain management
- Good understanding of S&OP/MRP (Material Requirement Planning)/MPS (Master Production Schedule) planning systems and business applications is preferred
- Experience with SAP ECC/APO is preferred
- Innovation and initiative are required to identify and implement business process improvements
- Adaptable and maintain the ability to be flexible in an ever changing and challenging environment
