The Opportunity:

We have an exciting opportunity for a Statistical Science Lead to join our new hub Data Science team in the UK to work within our established Data Science division on a global scale alongside over 200 team members internationally.

Key Activities for this role:

  • In this role you will be responsible for leading multiple projects, providing leadership and advising project teams and statistical leads by challenging statistical design, analysis, and decision-making issues.
  • You will challenge, assess, and discuss the asset strategy, supports interactions with regulatory authorities and key opinion leaders, and will be accountable for the statistical soundness of all statistical input and deliverables for the assigned projects.
  • Ability to work independently to achieve results with a high degree of accuracy and attention to detail.
  • Working as part of cross-functional, global teams

Essential Knowledge & Experience:

  • Substantial experience in applying statistical methods in biomedical research, Pharma, CRO, Academia or Healthcare industry.
  • Able to demonstrate experience in working on global clinical studies and projects or global process and system initiatives.
  • Strong understanding of Real-World Evidence, omics, digital endpoints, drug development and commercialization.
  • Experience within SAS, including data manipulation and analysis of a wide array of data sources/types. In addition, working knowledge of R is preferred.
  • Coaches and supports statistical leads in providing best in class data science support to Astellas drug development programs.
  • Collaborates and communicates effectively with the other Data Science functions on global scale.
  • Ability to work independently to achieve results with a high degree of accuracy and attention to detail.

Educations/Qualifications:

  • PhD or M.S. in Biostatistics, Statistics, or related scientific field; or equivalent.

Additional information:

  • This is a permanent, full-time position based in the UK.
  • We offer a hybrid working pattern, requiring one day per quarter in the office (Addlestone), blended with a collaborative video environment that supports working from home.
