We are looking for a Principal Technician MSAT

Scope of the role:

We are seeking a Principal Technician to join the Cell Therapy Manufacturing Sciences and Technology (MSAT) team, conducting the operations in the Grade D clean room at the central facility in Leiden. The Principal Technician is primarily responsible for the internal training program on the equipment and processes and coordinates periodic document review and updates. Next to this, the Principal Technician is a hands-on subject matter expert in automated CAR-T manufacturing operations.

Your role:

• Establishing and maintaining training curricula for equipment and processes at the central facility in Leiden.
• Coordinate periodic document review and updates.
• Support root-cause investigations for deviations, determine corrective actions and support implementation of change controls. In addition, you support Continuous Improvement projects.
• The lab-based tasks include the hands-on execution of production activities at the central facility in Leiden: Cocoon runs, process characterization studies, late-stage development and comparability studies.
• Closely collaborate with Manufacturing, Process Development, Quality Control and other departments.

The Principal Technician MSAT reports to the Manager MSAT.

• BSc/MSc in life sciences, biotechnology, engineering or related discipline with >5 years of relevant experience
• Proven track record as a qualified trainer
• Extensive GMP manufacturing experience
• Hands-on experience with cell & gene therapy processes and automated bioreactors
• Result-driven and can-do mindset, without compromising quality and compliance
• Good interpersonal skills and written and spoken fluency in English
• Team player and good communication
