Senior Research Associate, Functional Characterization & Bioassays

Role

For the Functional Characterization & Bioassays (FCB) team, we are looking for an enthusiastic and pro-active Senior Research Associate (Sr RA) for a period of 6 months, to cover a parental leave. The group develops binding and potency assays used internally and by external parties, such as Contract Manufacturing Organizations (CMOs), to demonstrate the quality and characteristics of our antibody products (to be) used in clinical studies.

Responsibilities

As Senior Research Associate, Functional Characterization & Bioassays , you will be working in a team of scientists and research associates dedicated to developing and validating functional bioassays. Specifically, you will participate in assay development to support (pre-) clinical candidates and novel characterization method s . In this role, you will spend 3-4 days in the lab, and 1-2 days for ELN and documentation, so onsite availability for this role is required.

Responsibilities include but are not limited to:

  • Primarily performing ELISA and cell-based potency assays.

  • Work with scientists and RAs to develop and execute bioassays (luminescent reporter assays).

  • Independently c onduct activities related to assigned study, such as conducting experiments, data analysis , interpretation and overview, and documentation.

  • Actively participate in data discussion s and design of subsequent experiments.

  • Present results to team and contribute to reporting.


Requirements

You are someone who enjoys working in a fast-paced biotechnology environment. With your experience in performing and developing cell-based assays , you take an active role in your field of expertise . You are highly motivated to achieve the goals that are important to Genmab’s therapeutic antibody projects. Specifically, we ask the following of you:

  • You have a t least a BSc degree in a life science related field .

  • Relevant experience in performing bioassays , in industry or academia , for at least 3 years.

  • Knowledge of and experience with cell-based assays and immune-oncology assays is a must.

  • Experience with SoftMax Pro and JMP is highly preferred.

  • Experience with cell culture and reporter assays is a preference.

  • You are highly organized and are energized by delivering high quality results and documentation.

  • Team player with pro-active attitude and can-do mentality.

  • Proficiency in English, as this is the leading language within Genmab.

  • You are eligible to work in the Netherlands without the requirement of applying for a permit.
