Associate Finance Director

Job Overview
Manage and direct all aspects of Financial Operations, either regionally or globally, providing direction on financial planning and forecasting. To ensure timely and accurate accounting and reports in accordance with IQVIA Finance Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs), US Generally Accepted Accounting Principles (GAAP), Sarbanes Oxley rules as well as local GAAP and tax rules.

Essential Functions
• Manage staff in accordance with organization’s policies and applicable legislation. Responsibilities include planning, assigning, and directing work; appraising performance and guiding professional development; rewarding and disciplining employees; addressing employee relations issues and resolving problems. Approve actions on human resources matters, including salary administration.
• Appropriately handle personnel issues, conflict management, define goals that increase knowledge and skills of staff, and define staff expectations, consulting and taking advice where necessary.
• May contribute to discussions on implementation of Finance strategy on a regional basis and implement objectives, as appropriate. Ensure staff have a consistent understanding and positive impression of business strategy for their respective business unit/division/country.
• Ensure compliance with established financial processes, US and local compliance requirements, statutory government reporting, procedures and controls; financial reporting and review of revenue, expenditures, asset management, tax, management reporting and administration.
• Advise operational leaders on financial, strategic, organizational, and business issues for both short- and long-term growth strategies , including business partnering.
• Assist in implementation of management and administrative financial systems, policies, and procedures to provide structure and discipline for sustained business growth.
• Monitor the Company’s financial and business performance, including cash flow and investments.
• Oversee the forecasting process.
• Ensure the accuracy of financial statements and the adherence to corporate reporting timetables.

• Optimize SSC processes (RTR, OTC, PTP) and manage periodic closing and balance sheet reconciliations.

• Participate and coordinate mergers and acquisitions with advisors for local entities.

• Manage external parties, eg audit, tax advisors, tax authorities and other services.
• Perform other duties as assigned.

Qualifications
• Bachelor's Degree Req

• Fluent in English and Dutch
• 10 years’ experience in accounting / financial planning and analysis Req
• Previous line management experience Req Or
• Equivalent combination of education, training and experience. Req
• Strong technical accounting skills.

• Previous experience with acquisitions - advantage
• Knowledge of Microsoft Office applications.
• Strong analytical and numeracy skills.
• Ability to identify financial issues, develop and execute mitigating actions.
• Effective verbal and written communication skills.
• Ability to influence others.
• Ability to manage conflicting priorities.
• Ability to establish and maintain effective working relationships with co-workers, managers and clients.
• CPA - Certified Public Accountant CPA qualified (or equivalent) Req
