Description

As a leading pharmaceutical company, Johnson and Johnson is seeking a hardworking and driven Scientist to join our Routine Testing Laboratory team. This role will support the laboratory in conducting Adventitious Virus Assays, Mycoplasma Culture assays, and PCR testing to ensure the quality and safety of our products.

The Quality Control (QC) Laboratory in Johnson & Johnson ensures the quality, safety, and efficacy of products produced by the company. Dedicated teams of highly trained professionals work diligently to conduct thorough testing and analysis on in-process samples and finished products.

Responsibilities:

Provide scientific guidance and support to laboratory operators, assisting them with technical queries and troubleshooting any issues that may arise.

Support the lab in maintaining aseptic working conditions, ensuring compliance with Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs) and relevant regulatory guidelines.

Investigate and document deviations from normal laboratory procedures, proposing and implementing solutions to prevent future occurrences.

Continuously explore and evaluate more efficient testing methods, techniques, and technologies, including Next Gen Sequencing, to optimize laboratory processes and increase efficiency.

Collaborate with, and lead, cross-functional teams to ensure laboratory results are accurately interpreted and optimally communicated to relevant partners, as well as to bring implementation of improvements to completion.

Stay updated with current industry trends, scientific advancements, and regulatory requirements, and share knowledge with the team.

Qualifications

  • A master degree or equivalent experience in a pharmaceutical, biotechnological or related education.
  • A demonstrated ability in a similar role within a pharmaceutical, biotechnology, or related industry.
  • Solid understanding and hands-on experience with cellular and molecular testing techniques are required; specific experience with viruses or Mycoplasma assays is considered an advantage.
  • Experience with Next Gen Sequencing is considered an advantage.
  • Proficient in aseptic techniques and laboratory best practices. Experience in working in a GMP environment is considered an advantage.
  • Sound understanding of regulatory guidelines and procedures applicable to the pharmaceutical industry are considered an advantage.
  • Excellent problem-solving and troubleshooting skills, with the ability to identify root causes and implement effective solutions.
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to collaborate effectively with cross-functional teams.
  • Attention to detail and ability to multitask in a fast-paced environment.
