Director Therapeutic Expertise Team

We aim to develop new and innovative medicines that will have a major impact on people’s lives and specialise in performing global clinical trials in three key therapeutic areas; CNS , Cardio-Metabolic & Renal and Infectious diseases & Vaccines .

We are looking for an experienced, entrepreneurial and self-starting Director Therapeutic Expertise Team to join our Cardio Metabolic & Renal Therapeutic Expertise Team (TET). This role is part of the Commercial team at Julius Clinical and reports into the Chief Business Officer.

In line with our science focus, our commercial team structure is split into therapeutic areas. For each therapeutic area we have a multi-disciplinary Therapeutic Expertise Team (TET), consisting of staff working as Business Development Directors (BDDs) and Scientific Officers. The aim of each TET is to contribute to the overall growth of Julius Clinical within the relevant therapeutic area.

The goal of the Director TET Cardio-Metabolic & Renal is to sell Julius Clinical services, provide direction and leadership to the Cardio-Metabolic & Renal TET for the growth of the designated therapeutic area and associated sales targets.

All team members will contribute to the TET growth by:

• Maintaining and developing relationships with subject matter experts and global key opinion leaders in the relevant therapeutic area
• Keeping abreast of (scientific) developments and gaining market intelligence in support of the identification of new business opportunities
• Supporting the development of global clinical trial site networks
• Providing clients with (scientific) input on their clinical trials
• Taking new business opportunities through the full sales cycle, from initial identification of new clients, through the RFP process, bid defence, contract signing, relationship management and repeat business formation
• Forming close partnerships with pharmaceutical and biotechnology clients and maintaining that relationship in the long-term
• Supporting the Operational team in execution and evaluation of clinical trials
• Developing research projects
• Forming a marketing strategy and enhancing the outward facing image of Julius Clinical
• Generating relevant (scientific) content for social media
• Representing Julius Clinical at Conferences, in Webinars etc.

The Director TET Cardio-Metabolic & Renal will;

• Provide leadership of the TET to position the company at the forefront of the (scientific) Clinical Research Organization industry within the therapeutic area
• Provide strategic direction and translates the strategy to ambitious but achievable goals for the TET
• Develop and execute (new) business/sales plans to achieve annual revenue and pipeline objectives
• Act as line manager for the assigned multi-disciplinary TET staff, including goal-setting, coaching and performance evaluation
• Build and maintain relationships with major external stakeholders for the TET (including leading research experts, academic and commercial networks, therapeutic area vendors etc)
• Executes and implements business cases based on market data
• Successfully works with science department to translate the scientific and operational benefits of Julius Clinical into new business opportunities
• Translates own (scientific) knowledge and the scientific and operational benefits of Julius Clinical into new business opportunities
• Facilitates strategic alliance with identified networks
• Proactively sets-up new networks in collaboration with KOLs
• Analyses used the data from development reports and statistics. If needed, builds and implements new business development reports and statistics
• Strategically manages customer and business relations
• Manages, supervises and provides strategic direction to successfully win the RFP
• Manages, supervises and provides strategic direction to successfully win the Bid Defense process

We seek a Director TET who has a background and experience in the Cardio-Metabolic & Renal therapeutic area, to include;

• Preferable an academic level of education in (bio-)medical sciences (BSc/MSc/PhD)
• 10 years of experience in a relevant business development in a senior/commercial role;
• Proven line management skills
• Proven sales track record/drug development/clinical trial operational expertise
• Extensive knowledge of the international market of biopharmaceutical companies
• Understanding of the clinical development process (Ph I – Ph IV clinical trials) and RWE
• Affinity with (Scientific) Clinical Research Organisations;
• Adequate command of written and spoken English and preferably of a 2nd language.
