Lab Technician, Protein Supply and Analytics

As our new Research Associate you will be part of the Antibody Research Materials department. Four closely connected teams focus on fueling Genmab’s discovery pipeline by supplying the base elements for the projects: the research materials. Our challenge is to deliver these at predictable and fast timelines and high user-friendliness. This vacancy is part of the Protein Supply & Analytics team. This team is responsible for the purification and biochemical characterization of Genmab’s therapeutic antibody batches. We constantly seek to improve existing techniques and to implement new analytical techniques .

This is a temporary position for 6 months in which you would be able to kick start your career, learn new skills , and get some real-life experience within a biotech company.

Your role at Genmab

Within the Protein Supply and Analytics team you will:

  • Prepare bispecific antibodies using Genmab’s proprietary DuoBody technology.

  • Apply bioanalytical techniques (chromatography and mass spectrometry) to characterize different proteins and antibody molecules for early R&D projects.

  • Perform most of the work according to Standard Operating Procedures (SOP) requiring a high degree of accuracy.

  • Document, analyze , and report the results in our LIMS system .

  • Work closely with scientists and other research associates in multiple project teams in early-stage research projects.

  • Contribute to process optimization and technological innovation within the team.

What we ask

You are keen and motivated to use your up-to-date knowledge and experience in protein chemistry techniques to strengthen our team. You are precise and accurate in the execution of experiments and in the documentation of the results. You have good organizational and communication skills, and you can deal with changing priorities and unexpected workload. You like to work in a team, but you are also capable of working independently.

In addition, you meet the following professional requirements:

  • You have completed a BSc , HLO , MLO , or equivalent in analytical chemistry, protein chemistry, biochemistry or related fields. (Candidates with a PhD are considered overqualified for this position and will not be considered).

  • You have an interest and affinity for practical work in the laboratory, with hands-on experienc e working with biomolecules.

  • You have k nowledge of, and experience with HPLC/UPLC systems using a variety of techniques, like SEC, CIEX, HIC and RP.

  • You are organized, ha ve detailed-oriented attitude and you follow through on tasks, proactively addressing issues and concerns

  • You have the a bility to work with tight deadlines and are able to work according to standard operating procedures

  • Professional business level English language skills, both written and verbal.
