We are looking for a motivated third-year, HBO supply chain / logistics / business administration (or similar field) student! The Animal Health Global Supplier Management Business Systems & Process Improvement (AH-GSM BSPI) department is an essential hub in our organization. This department is focused on providing foundational and centralized support for the AH-GSM organization by developing and maintaining excellence in the processes and systems we use, by driving efficiency through our sourcing and contracting work, by creating valuable insights through our data & analytics capabilities, and by continually seeking improvements via our operational excellence programs. The team consists of 11 employees and works closely with other departments within the company to achieve the stated goals.

Your internship assignment
As an intern, you will at the forefront of driving the redesign of dashboards and visualizations, contributing to process improvement activities, and promoting tool adoption to meet the evolving needs of the Animal Health business. This internship presents a unique chance for you to play a crucial role in enhancing the effectiveness and efficiency of procurement processes while learning, growing, and having fun along the way!

Your responsibilities

  • Conduct focus groups and engage in external best practice research to identify gaps in current dashboard designs. Explore topics such as Category Management, Supplier Relationship Management, Tail Spend, Supplier Rationalization, and more.

  • Utilize your knowledge of dashboard design and data visualization principles to reimagine and redesign existing dashboards, addressing identified pain points, and aligning them with the requirements of a best-in-class procurement organization.

  • Support an optimization initiative by deploying and analyzing surveys, conducting data analysis to identify areas of opportunity, and assisting in issue prioritization and roadmap development. This will provide you with hands-on experience in process improvement and project management within procurement operations.

  • Collaborate with a global project team, actively contributing to discussions, sharing insights, and learning from industry professionals.

  • Embrace a learning mindset, actively seeking opportunities to expand your knowledge and skills in procurement systems and process improvement, while enjoying the journey and having fun along the way!

  • Providing a fresh perspective to the department by sharing your opinion

The described tasks form the basic package and will often be performed independently after a proper training and learning period. These tasks may be supplemented with other projects and/or tasks on your own initiative or at the request of the organization.

What is required

  • A third year HBO student supply chain / logistics / business administration /data science or similar field

  • You are familiar with data analysis, possess strong analytical skills to understand and interpret data from various sources

  • You have effective communication skills to facilitate focus groups, present findings in a compelling and relatable manner, be adaptable and quickly learn new technologies, tools and processes.

  • You are enthusiastic about problem solving, experimenting with different approaches and technologies, willingness to be a team player.

  • You are fluent in English

  • You are available for a period of 5 / 6 months for 4/5 days a week
